FAQ

How many years does it take to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree?

Making the decision to pursue a degree involves an investment of time, energy, and resources. Chiropractors must earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree and a state license. Doctor of Chiropractic programs typically take 4 years to complete and require at least 3 years of undergraduate college education for admission. (This would be a total of at least 7 years.) Similar to medical doctors, chiropractors must prove that they’re prepared to practice by passing National Board of Chiropractic exams and earning continuing education credits.

How common is it to visit a Chiropractor?

According to Web MD about 22 million Americans visit chiropractors annually. Chiropractors can often treat common back and neck pain in a few sessions, sometimes with once-a-week visits. Everyday living often contributes to common back and neck pain, and you may find that a regular adjustment every two to four weeks can prevent problems. Just like having regular dental appointments to maintain your dental health. Chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis help maintain a healthy spine. The Gallup Poll states that nearly 30% of the population over the age of 18 have seen a chiropractor. (9 out of 10 chiropractic patients found their treatment was effective.) Mentioned in the Western Journal of Medicine, chiropractic patients were 3 times more satisfied with their care than patients of family practice physicians.
